"Toxic - Garbage Island" A Great Video To Watch

Not only as graphic designers but most than that, as human beings, we have to be concious that we are part of a hole system, an important one I should say, the planet Earth! And as part of it, we have to be responsible for our actions and reaction. By saying that I mean that we always have to question what is going to happen after we use or design something or if you could do something better in our rotine to give a better future to the next generations.

Watching MTV the other day, here in Brazil, I got to this amazing video called "Toxic - Garbage Island" that talks about the huge amount of plastic in our oceans and the sadly consequences that it can cause to the planet.

As we are aware of, has the wrong name...we have only 1/3 of earth here...anyway...the name is the least of the problems that we have to face in nowadays...

So, back to the video, after watching it, I serached in the web to know more about it and I'm not only found the video but a lot more of the crew that did it! Actually Toxic is made by VSB.TV, " an online broadcast network that streams free original content 24 hours a Day", in their words.

So I really recommend you guys to take a look. Garbage Island has 3 parts, where the crew of VBS.TV goes in a reserach boat to look for those huge plastic island that can be found in the middle of the ocean. And how it is damaging our enviroment. The first two part show the search for those islands...and its amazing how many trash they find along the way...very sad. The last part is the most interesing, is where they give an idea of the damage.

Check the video here and next time you design or even use something made of plastic, just rememeber this video and be aware where you put it...

In the end of this video that is a website that I also recommended you to check:
